Volunteer Position Descriptions

Howdy! My name is Matt Salisbury, and I am the Volunteer Coordinator for the 2008 Sierra Stampede Rodeo. I’d like to take this opportunity to invite all the members and friends of Sacramento’s Capital Crossroads Gay Rodeo Association as well as the general public and other IGRA Member Associations to become a part of history by volunteering to help bring IGRA Rodeo back to Sacramento! The 2008 Sierra Stampede Rodeo is July 25-27, 2008 with fun and exciting events planned for the whole weekend, but we can’t make it happen without your help. This is your opportunity to become more involved with Capital Crossroads and your community and to really make a big difference!

There are many opportunities to volunteer, most shifts are only 3-4 hours, and for most positions, prior experience is not required. All you need to bring is your big cowboy/cowgirl smile and a willingness to help make the rodeo weekend a success! Volunteers will receive a complimentary limited edition volunteer t-shirt complete with the rodeo logo, free admission into the event they are working, and the entire association’s undying gratitude! Additionally, all volunteers will be invited to an appreciation event at a later date to be announced, and anyone able to help out with tear-down on Monday is also eligible for a special incentive!
Volunteering is easy: Please visit the Capital Crossroads website www.capitalcrossroads.org, click on the “2008 Sierra Stampede Rodeo and Festival” link on the left side, then check out the “Volunteer Positions Descriptions” to find the job you’d like to do. Jump right in and fill out a “Volunteer Sign-up Sheet” and submit it either electronically by clicking the button at the top or print it out and mail it in to the address on the form. That’s it—you’re officially a Sierra Stampede Volunteer! Yee Haw!
